Dinner

I've been thinking a lot about my mom these days. I cannot wait to see her this summer. It will be nerve wracking when she finally tells me she's coming and I can start counting down the days. I was thinking about what we should have for dinner. Duty days usually consist of Mac n cheese and a yummy dessert but today I did my mommas chicken and rice casserole. I love it. I've since added a few of my touches to carry on the tradition of comfort foods. We love broccoli in this house, any way you make it we eat it. Just not with a horrible amount of cheese on it. I cant swing that. I like the taste of the "trees" as we call them. Isn't it lovely. My bubba and I had to taste it to make sure it was edible and the rice was cooked. I don't have exact measurement of anything and I use my home town seasonings, like I said its my mommas dish.
Whats a "comfort staple" in your home?

HEEBIE JEEBIES

It's important to note I am a chick and I do have a 12 year old little girl inside me when it comes to spiders snakes and other various creepers out in this world. Therefore I would like you to meet my new back yard friend. I havent thought of a good name for her or him. Yet! I met this new friend while throwing garbage away in our back yard bins. I jumped to the sky and ran inside composed myself after a few squeals and phone calls. Then I took a picture.

 and another picture.......
 Closer.....
and serious Its eyes were glued to me. I could feel it. Thankfully after 2 hours our housing office sent John. He's a regular at my house. John was a savior and quite the comedian. I was laughing my butt off watching him jump and skip and run

So if your in Virginia look out for snakes! Yes they do bite and I have no clue if it was poisonous and I do not want to find out. From now on I am checking EVERYTHING before my kids play outside. I am still squirming just thinking about it.

Days of our lives

My Johnnie let me sleep in and catch some much needed ZZZZ's. Right now he is making our usual "weekend" breakfast consisting of Eggs, Bacon (baked) and daddy's hash browns. So yummy. I will miss this on deployment.  I know that it wont be contributing to my weight gain so I'm happy about that. Yesterday St. Patty's day we lounged around all day. Both of us had been up the night before. Me from chasing a 2 year old through out the house at all hours of the night. Night Terrors? I have no idea, I think its called freedom. Big Daddy from standing watch. After our CBC dinner we headed to sonic and Johnnie got us all a milk shake. I absolutely love shakes that are hard to drink. Sonic's shakes are one of those. I just might miss Sonic when we leave to the west coast. Ok I wont.
We have 1 more full weekend to go until Johnnie starts this last leg of his retirement. Im dreading it on the inside but trying to keep my happy face on. Its hard I want to modge podge myself to him. Because of course we are stuck like glue. Im starting a to do list for deployment. Its a big one but I figured Id write it out here to keep it "handy".

I love this weather

SO do my kids! Im enjoying every bit of free time outside before it gets super hot and sticky here in VA. I feel sorry for my neighbors we are quite loud at times. The grass between our toes feels awesome. With these being our last days with Big Daddy its great to have it nice and sunny. We are absolutely utilizing our BBQ while he is here as well.
and Guess what graced my shoulder the other day?
Just this little bit of luck.
Ill take her as a sign that I might need a little bit of luck for this deployment.
And I will take whatever comes my way.

Big boy bed

This sunday was a big day in our house.  My 2 year old son got a big boy bed. We went to Sleepy's and purchased it. Our NEX wasn't good enough for our little man. Then to JCP to get the bedding. Not what i had in mind but it will work.
So far he takes his naps and sleeps all through the night. Except last night. at 3 a.m he woke up screaming opened the door and ran into the living room. I can laugh now but it gave us a heart attack. Hubby jumped up and scooped him into his arms. annnnnd put him back to bed with a few hundred kisses and its ok's :( Johnnie thinks he might have fell out of bed, I think the rain woke him and scared him. Who knows! but it made me think of the movie step brothers where they do weird things in there sleep. Craziness. I am proud of him for being such a big boy. It marks a milestone Johnnie is actually here to witness.

Doesn't he look teeny tiny?

It's 5 time to wake up

I hate my internal alarm clock that says hello it's 5 am please wake up and not be able to go back to sleep! I'm so used to hubby getting up and going to work even though I just lay in bed and eventually snag all of his pillows Then it's automatic, when the door shuts a lingering smell of coffee makes it back to our room And I'm awake o.0.... Even on duty days I suppose my body just doesn't get it. Thang god for Facebook and pinterest To keep things interesting. Too Interesting  Thanks so much

Nothing is safe with a 2 year old

My daughter has a list of daily chores she does before she gets anything with sugar in it basically. Minus natural sugars which she gladly eats. One of them being make her lunch for the following day. The picture is proof nothing is safe with her 2 year old brother roaming around like a shark in un-charted territories. Seriously, he took a chunk out of a PB&J, Plastic n all. He left the carrots applesauce and string cheese and went right to the good stuff. He was sneaky about it too. He's good.. kinda scares me. I really need to get the cabinet locks put on before hubby leaves. (hint hint)
All 3 of my children are happily sick. Snot bubbles arrived as soon as they came out of there rooms. Even the wee one. Hers are pitiful, its terrible. Conners well he's at the lets eat them stage so I follow him with hand sanitizer. Haylee's always starts out with a cough. The irritating one where I tell her 5 times in 2 minutes "Go get something to drink". I should have seen this coming.  After haylee came home I gave her and out so we could enjoy some fresh air. It was like a beautiful spring day on the East.. I loved not having to fear for tornados.

Sunday fun day

Sunday What happened to Sunday fun days? Today was "trying" to say the least! I'm exhausted from wrangling three children and completely re-organizing our spacious kitchen cabinets. Oh jeeze whine whine whine. Last night I did something Id never thought I'd do. Watch a scary movie the day before a duty day. Yes I made hubby come with me to pee and almost pee'd myself running after him when he thought it was funny to walk away from the bathroom door. Ugh! Hello we have been with each other a decade he knows he can't do that to me! BTW if your wondering what we watched it was Paranormal Activity 3. Yes I'm a big baby. Big daddy laughed the entire movie not only at the movie but the part where I had the death grip on his arm. Then at his 0500 departure for duty day I was wide awake....o.0 not good... Emma our youngest must have known too she woke up with a blood curdling cry. She had somehow managed to get her blanket over her head..ugh. Needless to say coffee was a must! And I may or may not be watching cartoons on with a night light tonight :-)
